Hi everyone! I've decided to start a mini series called Style How To. It basically is me showing you guys how to style an outfit using a piece of clothing that may be somewhat hard or awkward to style. For my first post in this series, I've chosen high-waisted pants. These high-waisted pants aren't just any high-waisted pants, they have the dreadful buttons that exentuate the high-waistedness of the pants. These pants can be hard to style just because of these buttons, and because high-waisted jeans are not always as easy as a pair of high-waisted shorts. I'm going to show you guys how to hopefully make these pants look good!
The first method to hiding the craziness of the row of buttons is distraction. The person that's looking at you needs to be distracted from your abdomen, meaning you need to bring the attention up towards your head. I have chosen to style this piece with a necklace, statement necklaces are extremely easy and they can pull any outfit together. Maybe you don't even have to use a statement necklace, just by doing your hair really nice or by trying a new makeup look could distract viewers from those awkward buttons. Another solution is hair chalk, adding some temporary color to your hair can really distract your viewers. Distract your viewers from those buttons by adding something else to your outfit!
Another method of distraction is choosing a shirt that has a little bit more going on. My first crop top was just plain black, this one is navy blue striped with ruffles at the bottom. This shirt is little more risky since the ruffles are down lower on the shirt, which draw more attention to your abdomen. Yet again, you can always do your hair really nice or do your makeup a little different in order to distract from the lower part of your top half. I think crop tops are probably the easiest way to style high waisted bottoms, I think they're so flattering and perfect for summer!
I absolutely love these looks and of course you can always throw on a leather jacket or a sweater with these outfits just to keep warm in the autumn season.
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you enjoyed and will come back for more!! :)
